Editorial policy
Playmatch publishes game facts, modelled experience profiles, comparisons, and curated discovery paths. This policy explains how those different forms of information are sourced and kept separate.
Public pages can contain factual catalogue information, a Game DNA profile inferred from available evidence, anonymous game-to-game similarity, and editorially approved discovery paths. Personal recommendations additionally use a signed-in player's declared taste and current intent.
Titles, studios, publishers, release details, supported platforms, store descriptions, categories, review totals, artwork, and Steam destinations are sourced from the Steam catalogue unless a page explicitly names another primary source. Playmatch does not present those facts as its own reporting.
Game DNA can use assisted metadata analysis to describe qualities such as pacing, exploration, pressure, or progression. These are modelled experience signals with confidence and evidence records—not claims that Playmatch staff completed every game or that every player will experience it identically.
A database record is not enough to qualify for search. Indexable game and comparison pages require a current destination, usable metadata, supported Game DNA, distinct value, and an explicit publication decision. Pages that no longer meet that standard are removed from the sitemap or kept out of search.
Store availability can determine which buying action is shown, but affiliate economics, sponsorship, or campaign spend do not raise an organic recommendation or similarity score. Playmatch currently presents Steam as its verified store destination.
Displayed update dates are changed for substantive catalogue, evidence, selection, or policy changes—not to create artificial freshness. Algorithm and taxonomy versions are retained where they affect how a result was produced.
Playmatch does not currently publish named staff reviews or claim hands-on completion of listed games. Public discovery pages are system- and policy-led outputs. Named reviewer attribution will appear only when a real reviewer has assessed and accepted responsibility for a page.
Catalogue and experience evidence is refreshed through the maintained source pipeline and publication review. Report a factual or editorial issue to [email protected] with the page, disputed statement, proposed correction, and a primary source where possible. See the full corrections process.
