Game details
Raise stone walls, towers and gates. Man them with spearmen and archers. Then watch the orc horde gather on the hills, a sea of torches in the rain, and come for your walls with ladders and rams. Every stone you lay is a question: will it hold?

The horde has come down from the hills. Between it and your people stands only what you build. Will It Hold? is a siege defense game. Lay out your fortress wall by wall and tower by tower, man it with spearmen and archers, and hold it against an orc horde thousands strong: up the ladders, against the gate, through every crack the stones give.Draw stone walls and palisades from tower to tower, set gatehouses where the roads come in, and raise your keep at the heart of it. Inside, build the town you are defending: houses, barracks and granaries that fit themselves to your walls and roads, leaning against the stone or lining the street.Every wall stands where you put it, and every one of them can fall. Then make it yours. Pick your two colours and every flag, banner and shield in the castle takes them. Light the walls with torches, braziers and lanterns; set up campfires, wells and carts, an archery range and training dummies; plant trees and lay roads. Each piece fits what you place it on: a banner on a tower face, a brazier on the walkway, a lantern on a wall.Spearmen hold the walkways and the breaches; archers take the walls and the towers. Select them, move them, put them where the blow will land. Towers do not shoot, only the men on them, and stone and roofs block their line of sight. You will see them long before they come. The orc host gathers in plain sight beyond your walls: banners in the rain, a sea of torches in the night. They raise ladders against your walls. They drive a ram into your gate. Stone cracks, crumbles and falls in stages, and when a breach opens, the horde pours through it.Every blow is a roll of the dice: a miss, a strike, a death. No health bars, only the battle.Hold by day, at dusk and through the night, in rain, fog, mist and lightning, from a light drizzle to a full storm.Build stone walls, palisades, towers and gatehouses, joint to jointRaise a town inside your walls: houses, barracks and granaries that fit themselves to walls and roadsDecorate your castle: your own colours on every banner, torches, braziers, wells, carts, trees and roadsCommand troops with classic RTS controlFace an orc horde that gathers in plain sight, thousands strongLadders, battering rams and breachesWalls that crack, crumble and collapse in stagesReal line of sight: towers, keeps and buildings block arrowsDay, dusk and night; rain, fog, mist and lightningThe horde is coming.
